Accommodation is a big part of the experience when you are visiting wineries. What can be more relaxing than staying in the comfort of your own villa while still being close to all that BC wine county has to offer? There are many different options for Okanagan winery accommodations, but Burrowing Owl Guest House is one of our favorites.
Burrowing Owl Guest House
The Burrowing Owl Guest House is situated on the south shore of Okanagan Lake, on the infamous Black Sage Road. This South Okanagan winery is just a short drive from the city of Kelowna and is located in between Oliver and Osoyoos.
This beautiful guest house features a total of 11 suites including one Penthouse Suite. The suites have large bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, spacious decks, and a sitting area. Guests can enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding valley from their patio.
The Penthouse Suite, also known as Suite #11, offers truly spectacular winery accommodations. It offers two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, a large living room, a dining room, and two private patios.
One patio in the guest bedroom looks out over the parking lot and surrounding vineyards, while the master bedroom patio runs the width of the suite with a panoramic view of the vineyards.

Amenities at this Okanangan Winery Accommodation
Guests can enjoy a variety of amenities including swimming in the heated pool, relaxing in the hot tub, complimentary wifi, complimentary breakfast, free parking, and Tesla/EV charging stations.
The swimming pool is one of the largest I’ve seen in a smaller boutique winery lodging. The hot tub is quite small in comparison and will only comfortably seat 3-4 adults.
The pool and hot tub can be accessed directly from the ground floor suites, while the upper floor suites are situated directly above.
With its serene setting overlooking Okanagan Lake and close proximity to vineyards, this property offers guests an idyllic retreat for wine tasting or other local adventures.
The property is just minutes away from some of the best vineyards in Canada, including Phantom Creek Estates, Tinhorn Creek Vineyards, Hester Creek Estate Winery, and Church & State Wines. The Guest House also features its own winery where you can enjoy onsite tastings and tours.
A beautiful and delicious complimentary hot breakfast is served with fresh fruit baskets delivered to your door every morning. Prior to 2020, guests would be served breakfast in the beautiful breakfast room located on the lower floor.
A beautiful buffet-style breakfast was available to every guest each morning and it was a perfect way to start the day.
Currently, breakfast is delivered to each guest suite at an arranged time, and while it isn’t as lovely as the breakfast room, being able to eat breakfast and enjoy your morning coffee in your own guest suite is certainly a nice luxury.
The breakfast menu includes a wide range of hot and cold items such as eggs, bacon, pancakes, waffles, cereal, yogurt, peanut butter toast, or muffins. Guests also have the option to enjoy homemade granola with fruit, with the menu changing slightly each morning.
Sonora Room Restaurant at Burrowing Owl Estate Winery
There is a fine dining restaurant, located at Burrowing Owl Estate Winery. It is a must-try for anyone visiting the Okanagan. With both indoor and patio seating available, our favorite is the patio which overlooks 146 acres of vineyards below.
The restaurant also boasts a large and wonderful wine library containing many of its own vintages that are no longer available for purchase, which is one of the main draws of this restaurant.
The Sonora Room is a welcoming space that has something for everyone – whether it’s an intimate dinner or a casual dinner with friends. The menu has plenty of options, and we’ve found that the seared scallops with beef tenderloin top our list!
