With their kids grown up, many boomers are now getting to experience a new freedom they haven’t had in over 18 years. 1. It Can Make You Healthier

As a boomer traveling, it can make you healthier from the amount of walking you do when exploring new areas. When returning from a trip, some boomers experience lower levels in cholesterol, mainly due to the increase in exercise and what they ate. Not to mention, in addition to walking, many countries also use different ingredients in their food, so not only will you get healthier from walking, you may even shed a few pounds, too!

Boomer travel is a tremendous market, with boomers continuing to dominate economics and culture. The majority of boomers are also hip with technology and when it comes to travel they can basically organize their entire trip on their own without needing a travel agent.

Solo travel is vital and those who don’t have a partner should never use it as an excuse not to travel, but to embrace it. Boomers have navigated life enough to know what they want and how to maximize their traveling experience. The best part is, that even when you’re traveling solo, you’ll still be able to meet new like-minded individuals along the way.

4. Expanding Horizons

As boomers, you’ve most likely spent the majority of your life raising children, followed by becoming an empty nester with the fear that you’d have nothing left to do. Being a retired boomer, you’ll view time as a precious gift that can’t go to waste, so you can travel to various cities and countries, and learn about different cultures.
