Because I’m with you. Side hustling is sometimes a struggle. I participate in a lot of online money-making forums, and the general consensus on taking online surveys is not good.
Lots of people submit posts looking for suggestions on how to work from home, or how to make money online from home. And they specifically say “no surveys!”
I feel that frustration. But let me tell you about one you might be overlooking.
And this is not some smarmy way of finagling you into taking online surveys.
You’re too smart for that.
This is a site that actually does have the word “survey” in the title. But it’s much more than that. Really.
Because I’ve been making money through this site. And it hasn’t been by taking surveys.
I make money each month by sending them my garbage.

Product Review: Maple Holistics Winter Blend – Best Anti Static Product – Shampoo and Conditioner Set
Picture this — It’s a cold, snowy Friday night. You’re on your way to meet family and friends at a restaurant for a birthday party. Your birthday party.
There will be group photos, there will be selfies, and there will be Snap stories. Of course, you’re wearing your most complimentary yet comfy outfit, and your makeup looks classy without appearing too overdone.
You dash into the venue, shrugging off your heavy coat and pulling the wool cap from your head.
Then you turn to look in the mirror.
And see this:
If this has happened to you during the winter months, then you are not alone. In fact, most people experience flyaway hair in colder weather.
But if this also happens to you in the spring, the fall, and sometimes in the summertime, you know all about this problem.
A problem that I’ve always experienced, too, since I have fine, flyaway static-prone hair.
What makes hair frizzy and staticy?
Frizzy, flyaway locks taken over by static electricity.
When cold weather and low humidity meet toe-to-toe, you know there’s a heap of trouble brewing. Mix that up with a head of hair that’s already low on moisture, possibly dry or damaged, and that’s a recipe for disaster.
You try to wet it down, and it just dries and springs up again.
Attempt to tame it with hairspray or gel, and your hair becomes sticky and matted.
Finally, at your wits’ end, you wind up grabbing either a scrunchie or a baseball cap. Better to keep it covered than to allow it the freedom to go wild.
Believe me — I know all about it!
Pretty much my entire life, I’ve tried to find a trick, tip or product to tame those flyaways. I’ve tested multiple anti static hair products like shampoo, conditioners, serums, gels, mousse, sprays, oils and cremes.
I’ve also experimented with static spray, dryer sheets, banana peels, natural bristle and ionic brushes, hand lotion; you name it —
But nothing has done a great job at taming the wild beast. Everything works for a little while, but then I walk across a carpet or go to pet my dogs, and then — ZAP!
Static electricity strikes again.
Because I’d never come across a legit shampoo for hair with static electricity — I thought it just didn’t exist.
And I thought I was doomed to a life of constantly pulling my hair back or weighing it down with goop.
I had only ever found one product that kind of worked — it was a light conditioning spray, which has since been discontinued.
Then one day, while searching for a replacement, I ran across this product from Maple Holistics. Maple Holistics is a company that creates all-natural health and beauty products, including shampoo for static flyaway hair.
When I purchased this Winter Blend set by Maple Holistics, I honestly wasn’t expecting a whole lot.
I mean, I knew it would do its job at a basic level, like getting my hair clean and conditioned. So many other hair products had let me down in the past, and my standards were embarrassingly low.
But I love the smell of mint and was intrigued that it was made with all-natural ingredients.
I was willing to give it a shot since the cost wasn’t horrendous (in comparison to the dozens of other products I’d tried), and I didn’t see a negative to at least trying it out.
While my hair is prone to frizziness, it also tends to be annoyingly limp & lifeless when I add too much product.
So the fact that this anti-static shampoo and conditioner claimed to revive dull, lifeless hair was something I was interested in seeing.
Many products claim to moisturize dry or damaged hair, but what they wind up doing is weighing it down. So sure, it’s moisturized, but it’s also a lifeless lump sitting on the top of your head — not cool.
And the other aspect that made me want to check this stuff out was that it’s made with all-natural ingredients, including pure essential oils. Not a slew of chemicals or weird stuff that you can’t even pronounce, much less define.
Trying it out – A Hair Product that Battles Frizz and Static
The first time I used the anti-static shampoo, I noticed how minty fresh the scent was (which is always a way into my good graces — I love mint-everything! Peppermint bubble gum – of course! Mint chocolate chip ice cream – yes, please!)
And as I lathered the shampoo into my hair, it felt tingly and refreshing. Just letting it sit there for a minute or so left me with this invigorating feeling that it was doing something. Like it was absorbing into my scalp and working its magic to make my hair healthier.
The conditioner was just as fragrant but also had a thicker consistency. I coated my scalp and let the ingredients sink in for a minute or two. Then rinsed, and was left with a tingly, fresh and clean feeling.
When I dried my hair as I usually do, I noticed how much softer it felt. And the minty fresh scent still lingered, which was a plus.
But the real test would be the following day when I woke up and tried to brush some sense into my hair.
And guess what? No static!
Okay, so I’m not saying I’ve been static-free every little moment since then. But this has addressed my problem in a way I would never have expected.
So believe me when I tell you — This stuff works.

What I’d Improve about Maple Holistics Anti-Static Shampoo and Conditioner
This item is listed on the Maple Holistics website as a limited edition set — so I’m not quite sure if this product is available year-round. However, there will be a need to stock up!
And I guess to keep it real — the price is a dollar or two higher than what I’d typically spend on regular hair care.
If you’re used to spending $5 or less on a bottle of shampoo, then this may not be the product for you. But when you think about it, you’re looking for a product that solves a problem. So in most cases, this means you might expect to pay a little more.
And I suppose that’s what you call supply and demand. Because really, when I think of all the other products I’ve tried over the years — I’d gladly pay a few dollars extra to have a product that works to reduce frizz and static.
Honestly, I love the way this stuff makes my hair feel. And I feel good about not putting a bunch of nasty chemicals in my hair.
Other Hair Maintenance Products
Suffice it to say; I’ve gone back to Maple Holistics on several other occasions to peruse their other products.
And just as expected, the quality surpassed anything else out there that I’ve tried.
